British Airways will trial the VeriFLY digital health app on flights between London and the US, allowing customers to verify COVID-19 test certificates before they fly.
The trial will be rolled out on Qatar’s Doha to Istanbul route, enabling passengers to receive COVID-19 test results and verify they’re eligible to travel.
Using the platform, United’s customers can review COVID-19 entry requirements, find testing options and upload any required information ahead of their trip.
The pre-clearing programme would allow travellers from select US cities with a negative COVID-19 test to bypass the mandatory airport screening in Hawaii.
The new platform allows Singapore Airlines’ customers to book their pre-departure COVID-19 tests and obtain their results online.
Norwegian has announced that it will no longer fly long-haul routes, and instead focus on its core Nordics business, operating a European short-haul network.
Emirates and Etihad will be among the first airlines in the world to use IATA’s digital health passport, with trials set to take place in Q1 2021.
The new website will feature comprehensive information on COVID-19 testing, hotels and transportation for all international travellers entering Japan.
