Journey Robotics joins 2025 IAGi Accelerator Program to advance autonomous baggage handling

Journey Robotics has been selected for International Airlines Group’s IAGi Accelerator Program. A 12-week program will validate Journey Robotics’ autonomous baggage handling system.

Journey Robotics – a Pittsburgh-based startup developing autonomous baggage handling systems and Partner of the FTE Baggage Innovation Working Group – has been selected for International Airlines Group’s IAGi Accelerator Program. IAG is a Corporate Partner of the FTE Digital, Innovation & Startup Hub.

Over this 12-week fast-track accelerator, Journey Robotics will collaborate with IAG to gain a deeper understanding of the market and explore how its technology could enhance baggage operations at London Heathrow Airport.

The IAGi Accelerator Program sought startups using artificial intelligence (AI), automation, sustainability, and next-generation computing technologies to improve efficiency and enhance the customer journey across IAG’s airlines. Journey’s robotic systems automate baggage unloading with precision and speed. The system could operate 24/7, improve throughput, and minimise lost, delayed and damaged bags, thereby delivering a more seamless, reliable travel experience.

“We are honoured to be selected for the 2025 IAGi Accelerator Program,” said Reeg Allen, CEO and Founder of Journey Robotics. “Collaborating directly with IAG’s airline subject matter experts will provide our team with the insights and operational expertise to scale and bring our technology to market.”

Journey Robotics is one of 29 startups across 11 countries selected to join the 2025 IAGi Accelerator. The accelerator program aligns with IAGi’s goal of supporting early-stage founders whose technologies demonstrate strong future potential. Over 75% of this year’s startups are at pre-seed or seed stage. Following the accelerator, many startups go on to extended trials or commercial contracts with IAG airlines, and in some cases, investment from IAG’s corporate VC, IAGi Ventures.
