Emirates has revealed the full details of its new £10 million lounge at Manchester Airport, bringing the airline’s latest signature lounge concept to the UK for the first time.

Located in Terminal 2, the new lounge combines contemporary design, integrated technology, wellness-focused facilities and locally inspired dining, creating dedicated spaces for relaxation, work, socialising and dining.

The lounge features more than 50 design enhancements, including Italian eco-leather seating equipped with wireless charging and universal power access. Herringbone flooring, Emirates’ signature scent and displays celebrating international artists and Emirati culture contribute to the overall design, alongside Rolex clocks showing global time zones.

Passenger facilities include upgraded shower suites with VOYA toiletries, a Quiet Zone with soft lighting and sleep amenities, private spaces and prayer rooms.

Emirates is also offering direct boarding from the lounge to the aircraft, which it says makes it the only airline at Manchester Airport to provide this facility.

Dining and drinks form a central part of the experience, with an open show kitchen preparing dishes à la minute and a dedicated barista bar serving freshly crafted coffee. Drinks can be finished with cocoa-dusted designs, including the Manchester bee and Emirates emblem.

A dedicated mixologist also serves locally inspired cocktails and mocktails, including the signature Made in Manchester, combining Vimto Summer, grenadine, lemonade and fresh strawberry.

The ‘Made in Manchester’ food menu highlights local flavours and suppliers, with dishes including Fleetwood marinated king prawns, oven-baked Fleetwood sea bream and Wigan meat and potato pie. Other regional specialities include Shetland kippers with crumpets and poached egg, Lancashire smoked trout and Cheshire cheeses.

The local menu is complemented by an international selection designed to cater to a range of tastes, alongside Emirates’ selection of wines, beers, spirits and Moët & Chandon Champagne.

“Manchester is an important gateway in our global network, and the scale of our investment here reflects our long-term commitment to the region,” said Mohammad Mattar, Divisional Senior Vice President, Airport Services at Emirates. “Our new signature lounge concept raises the bar for premium airport lounges, bringing together the hospitality, innovation and attention to detail that define the Emirates experience at every stage of the journey.”

Stephen Turner, Chief Commercial Officer at Manchester Airport, said the lounge forms part of the airport’s wider £1.5 billion Terminal 2 transformation, which is now nearing completion.

Emirates currently operates three daily services between Manchester and Dubai. The new lounge is open up to four hours before flight departure and is complimentary for First Class and Business Class passengers, as well as Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold members, including those travelling in Premium Economy and Economy Class.

Other Emirates customers can also purchase lounge access on arrival.
