Plaza Premium Group (PPG), a global provider of airport hospitality and passenger service solutions, has completed a five-month refurbishment of its four lounges across Terminals 1 and 2 at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.

The redevelopment introduces refreshed interiors, upgraded facilities and enhanced guest services, with Taiwanese culture, cuisine and design incorporated throughout the spaces.

Each of the four lounges has been given a distinct identity inspired by elements of Taiwan’s natural landscapes, cultural heritage and lifestyle, including orchids, jade craftsmanship, tea culture and mountain landscapes.

The refurbishment also focuses on passenger comfort and operational efficiency, with reconfigured layouts, optimised seating and upgraded furnishings increasing capacity while creating a more spacious environment. Dining facilities have been enhanced with expanded buffet stations and improved passenger flow.

The project coincides with Plaza Premium Group’s 10th anniversary in Taiwan. Since opening at Taoyuan International Airport in 2016, the Group says it has served more than six million travellers in the market.

As part of the enhanced food and beverage experience, Plaza Premium Group has launched the second season of its “Flavours in Transit” global culinary campaign, themed “From Our Roots to Your Plate”. Taiwan Executive Chef Russ Wang contributes a signature Taiwanese Sha Cha Beef Noodles dish featuring Yilan Sanxing scallions, house-made sha cha sauce and Shaoxing chili oil.

The lounges have also partnered with local Taiwanese brands, including Michelin Bib Gourmand-recognised Moon Moon Food, which has created an exclusive “Love and Hate Sesame Chili Noodles” dish. Tea brand Chappii is providing signature tea beverages, while Drink Sport has collaborated on cocktails combining Oolong tea traditions with whisky-inspired mixology.

Selected lounges will also feature a DIY cocktail bar, giving passengers an interactive way to engage with locally inspired beverages during their time at the airport.

The Terroir lounge in Terminal 2 has introduced private rest suites through a partnership with Sealy. Available for single or double occupancy, the suites feature hotel-quality bedding and are designed to provide a private space for passengers during long layovers or transit journeys.

The refurbishment also introduces dedicated cultural spaces in collaboration with Acme+Art Gallery, with 15 curated artworks displayed across the four lounges. The inaugural exhibition features work by Taiwanese contemporary artist Wu Chia Hua, alongside pieces from emerging local artists.

Further enhancements include dedicated airline-exclusive zones and private VIP rooms, providing additional options for passengers seeking greater privacy while supporting tailored services for airline and commercial partners.

The upgraded Plaza Premium Lounges are now fully operational and accessible through airline and international card partnerships, walk-in admission, online bookings, Smart Traveller points redemption and corporate partnership programmes.

The reopening forms part of Plaza Premium Group’s wider investment in Taiwan, with the company positioning the redesigned lounges as spaces where passengers can experience Taiwanese hospitality, cuisine, art and design before departure or during transit.
