The new Extreme Throughput Satellite (XTS) will provide Panasonic customers with multiple gigahertz of new Ku-band capacity over China and around East Asia using narrow XTS spot beams.

The low-cost carrier will soon introduce a 56-seat premium economy cabin and will offer inflight Wi-Fi on its new Boeing 787 Dreamliners.

The deal covers at least 58 of United’s new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and will support high-speed Wi-Fi, VPN access and wireless IFE.

Aeromexico will install 2Ku on an additional nine Boeing 737-800NGs, bringing the total number of aircraft equipped with the Ku-band solution to 29.

Panasonic Avionics says its third-generation network is built to meet the growing connectivity demands of airlines and their passengers.
