Avalon Airport is set to become the first airport in Australia to implement self-service check-in and bag drop in partnership with Elenium Automation.

Developed in partnership with Daifuku, Japan Airlines has debuted the self baggage drop system at Haneda Airport Terminal 1 to reduce queuing times.

The new services installed by Collins Aerospace allow Aer Lingus passengers to check-in for their flight using common-use self-service kiosks.

Narita International Airport will roll out 72 self-service Auto Bag Drop units, developed by ICM Airport Technics, ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

FTE attended PTE in London last week, where we explored a number of solutions that have the potential to improve the airport terminal.

The self-service bag drop units reduce passenger check-in times, and are currently in use by a number of airlines at Heathrow Terminals 2, 3 and 5.

The new check-in area in the terminal building at Montréal-Trudeau Airport delivers an improved passenger experience with its 16 new self-bag-drop units.

The In-Town Check-In service will enable passengers to carry out all check-in procedures at the downtown facilities before heading to the airport.

A further 15 SITA Scan&Fly self bag drop units will be installed in KLIA2, following the successful implementation of 15 units earlier this year.

The self-service bag drop system, supplied by ICM, will ensure a much simpler and faster check-in and bag drop process in Hongqiao Airport’s renewed T1.

Passengers can use the Scan&Fly technology when flying domestically from Rio de Janeiro and will soon also be able to do so at São Paulo-Guarulhos airport.
