FTE paid a visit to Gatwick Airport, where CIO Michael Ibbitson showed us how next-generation technology is being used to improve the baggage, security and immigration processes.
FTE toured London Stansted Airport with Neil Banks, Terminal Transformation Manager, to preview the latest developments, including self-service smart access security gates, fast-track security, intuitive wayfinding and a virtual assistant.
Automated border control SmartGate kiosks will be trialled for outbound passengers at Brisbane Airport, following high uptake among inbound travellers.
A total of 24 automated border control e-gates that make use of facial recognition technology have been installed at Lisbon Airport.
New Zealand Customs Service and Auckland Airport are trialling SmartGate Plus – a one-step biometric e-gate system that enables self-service customs processing.
