ViaSat has won the battle to install in-flight connectivity on American Airlines’ 100 new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

A survey conducted by Inmarsat and GfK has found that 54% of passengers would prefer to have onboard connectivity than in-flight meals or IFE.

The low-cost in-flight connectivity plan is called “Social-Lite” and offers 20MB of data at 64kbps surfing speed for US$5.
