Passengers will be able to undertake US inspections before departure, meaning they can avoid immigration queues upon arrival in the United States.
The new self-service solution for families travelling together is being tested by New Zealand Customs at departures at Christchurch Airport.
The self-service kiosks and app are part of CBSA’s strategy to eliminate the paper declaration cards distributed to passengers on board aircraft.
The airport, which serves the Caribbean island of Saint Martin, has employed biometric-enabled e-gates to enhance passenger flow and security.
