Sydney Airport has revealed that it is to install additional SmartGates, which use facial recognition technology to speed-up the immigration process.
A report by the Home Affairs Select Committee has criticised the use of iris scanning technology, saying the money would have been better spent on immigration staff.
Five e-gates will be installed at Edinburgh Airport in two weeks, in a move that will enhance the immigration process for EU travellers with e-Passports.
