A key element of the ÂŁ24m terminal improvement project, the new-look security area offers a more calming and welcoming environment for travellers.
The new security lanes in North Terminal each have multiple loading points, enabling seven passengers to prepare for the screening process at any time.
The Transportation Security Administration and American Airlines will be installing a new automated screening process in selected airports in the US this year.
Keflavik Airport can now display real-time queuing times at key passenger touch points and optimise resource allocation during busy periods.
