The Auckland Airport Transport Hub will transform the passenger experience, check-in and baggage handling, with works expected to begin in June.

The funding will support near-term Airport Expansion and Development Program (AEDP) projects to support expected growth in passenger traffic.

Alaska Airlines has begun a $2.3bn investment in infrastructure upgrades at Seattle-Tacoma, San Francisco, Portland and Los Angeles airports.

The $340m project will include an additional 145,530 sq ft of dining and retail space, a new Alaska Airlines Lounge and a range of new amenities.

The new international terminal, set to open in February 2022, will double the airport’s capacity from 15 to 30 million passengers per year.

The $2bn project will transform the 50-year-old facility and will provide expanded gate capacity in both Terminal C and Terminal A to address future growth.

The transformation project will see a series of infrastructure improvements to transform the passenger experience of the airport’s Terminal 3.

The modernisation of LAX’s Terminal 6 will include a complete overhaul of the gate areas and lounges, and the replacement of passenger boarding bridges.

The extended terminal is the centrepiece of Manchester Airport Group’s £1bn Manchester Airport Transformation Programme, which was first announced in 2015.

Milano Linate Airport has upgraded its terminal with new check-in, security and retail areas and technology such as biometrics, CT scans and self-bag drop.

Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport has unveiled the final design of its passenger terminal, expected to begin operations in late 2026.

The new gates at Tom Bradley International Terminal feature enhanced Wi-Fi, touchscreen kiosks, biometrics and advanced baggage handling and boarding systems.

Munich Airport and the SOF Connect consortium have commenced operations of Sofia Airport and announced plans to build a new terminal with best-in-class F&B.

Among the main features of Vancouver Airport Authority’s new Pier D are eight new gates, a glassed-in island forest and an immersive digital experience.

Pittsburgh International Airport will enter the next phase of its terminal renovation programme this spring, following a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new terminal has increased the airport’s capacity to 14 million passengers per year, and has been designed to deliver a more personal, Bahraini feel.
